Understand the programme behind the name.
For the BS-MS, research is part of the degree: the official FAQ describes a mandatory final-year research component leading to a master’s thesis. Read the individual curriculum to understand foundations, later subject choices and how specialisation works.
The 2026 portal also lists Geology and Environmental Sciences as new majors within the regular BS-MS at IISER Mohali. These are majors, not separate additional entrance examinations.
