The IISER Aptitude Test—usually called IAT—is the entrance test used for IISER undergraduate admissions. IISER stands for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research. The seven institutes combine science teaching with research.
For 2026, admission to IISERs is through IAT alone. The test is not JEE, NEET or the NEST examination. Each examination serves its own admission process.

Prepare to connect concepts, interpret information and reason from the conditions in a question.

Build fluency with mathematical methods, physical models and multi-step problem solving.
These are preparation priorities, not an official classification of question types. The official 2026 paper has 15 questions in each subject.
